We are talking pants with patterns today. As a woman with a pear shape (My hips are wider than my torso- I am a size bigger on my bottoms than my tops), pattern below my waist is not my ideal. However, I love how there is always a way around the science of what looks best on your body shape.
The pattern in this outfit is abstract and small in size, that makes it less enhancing of my hips. Also it has some dark colour (lighter colours are more enhancing). As well, I am wearing a jacket that emphasizes my shoulders - it has shoulder pads. All of this together allows me to still get away with the pattern and create balance with my body shape and the outfit.
This is what your clothes should do. Create balance!
It is never about hiding, instead, it is about emphasising your best parts and learning how to minimise or balance others.
I am a true believer in the fact that you should dress to express who you are. To share a story about you with the world through your clothes. So I invite you today to check your wardrobe. How many outfits do you own that actually feel 100% you, that you love? That you feel on top of the world when you wear them?
Because remember, your clothes have energy attached to them and if they feel blah when you look and wear them, you are going to walk out into your day feeling blah...
I wore this outfit to attend a meeting with a company I am doing some in-house training for. It was ok for me to add some fun to my outfit, as the person I was meeting with, knows me well from past training for her team. The jacket gives it more of a credible look that the photo shows. The credibility score for this outfit will be around a 6.5, so I wouldn't wear this if I was presenting my program to a company that didn't know me prior.
I am wearing - Jacket: Cue, Pants: small boutique somewhere in Italy, Shoes: Colombia, Earrings: Lovisa
I naturally come across as a very approachable person, I look younger than I am too. So I need to increase my credibility with my clothes and body language.
It is so important to understand that our clothes and body language speak tons. In fact, over 90% of the message we send out into the world has nothing to do with your words. So aligning your message with your image and your body language will help you become a better communicator.
Now, let me ask you something, when was the last time you walked out of your house in the morning feeling confident, beautiful and ready to take on the world?
I am going to take a guess and say it wasn't today and maybe hasn't happened in a while...
