One of the most important things to think about when clothes shopping is your budget. Deciding when to spend less or when to be a bit more generous with yourself. You obviously want a wardrobe full of amazing pieces. The key here is to know which garments are worth paying more for and which ones to skimp on. So here it is... when the mix of inexpensive and chic pieces becomes important.
In my conversations with women from different backgrounds, ages and positions I hear that there is a common feeling of thinking they are not being taken seriously enough. Some think they look too young, or that they are too feminine or soft, or that nobody is seeing how capable they are, or that they donβt know how to power dress, or how to present themselves with confidence. Bottom line, they donβt feel fully heard and respected.
I wore this outfit at an event in Paris, as part of the business and coaching training I am doing. We get together 4 times a year for a live event. We are more than 200 women flying from all over the world! It's pretty amazing! Anyway, it is always fun to pick out awesome outfits to attend these events in. The day before I wore the outfit I wore was so uncomfortable all day! The pants were so tight! So it was super exciting to be wearing this very comfortable dress.
I like looking good when I travel. But believe me I value comfort more than anything. So the good news is that it is possible to be comfortable and look good. I know! It's a complete revelation, or at least for most of my clients.
Outfits that have light and dark colour combinations create a feeling of being confident, inspiring and stimulating.I love black and white combinations, especially when I add a statement piece. My necklace creates more of a statement than the photo shows ;)
Since my corporate days I have developed a great love for jackets. They are so versatile and can go anywhere from super casual to very dressy, from loose and unstructured to fitted and structured.
I am not a huge fan of patterns, but this geometric style caught my attention. My dramatic style personality doesn't find patterns very attractive. I am more of a solid colour and statement accessory lover.
This is a new top I bought recently and I really enjoy wearing it. I pair it with black jeans and black boots and I love the resulting look.I do find it quite a dark outfit though so I like to add a statement necklace. You can see from the photo the necklace is very bright and full of colour. It expresses me perfectly and adds a lot of fun to the outfit.
In answer to your questions, I am sharing some ideas on how to dress when you are tall and slim.
Let's start by how you can appear shorter:
In answer to your questions, I am sharing some ideas on how to dress to appear taller and slimmer.
I have wanted a jumpsuit since I was 15. They come in and out of fashion but every time they are 'in' I have wanted to get one.The problem: The fit with my pear body shape. (My hips are wider than my torso is).
Most jumpsuits have huge pockets or elastic waists that just make my hips look huge. I had one before that had pattern below the waist and I actually loved that jumpsuit.
I am sure by now you know how much I love helping women to stand out with confidence and style. To be visible to themselves and their desires in life. Now let me ask you, have you been unsure about how to present yourself to look the part? Are you wondering if your appearance comes across as the professional, capable and intelligent woman you are? Are you wanting to create a strong and visible presence?
Today we are talking about flat shoes in response to some requests from you girls. As I am not a flat shoe wearer I am using some pictures and not my own outfits ;)
Last week I was in beautiful Mallorca, Spain attending an event for my coaching and business training program. This outfit is what I wore on day 2 of the training. I decided to wear this black and white outfit. This combination of colours creates a mood of confidence and inspiration.
Today I want to share with you a story. I am always eager to improve and take my business one step further so when a client asked me if I wanted some feedback on my marketing, my answer was definitely yes! However, I was very surprised by her thoughts, she told me that when I spoke of being a βleader in your industryβ it didnβt resonate with her at all.
Winter is here! At least in the southern hemisphere. I get asked a lot by my clients about how to still use dresses during winter. I really believe that there is a lot from your summer or spring wardrobe that you can still wear in the cooler months.
There is something about the latin culture and jeans. We love them!I must have worn them everyday during most of my 20's. I really enjoy wearing them casually as well as dressing them up a bit.
A couple of years ago one of my friends sent me a picture of a wedding dress and I absolutely fell in love with it. I kept the photo just in case ;)When Scotty proposed last July I still had the photo so I knew exactly what I wanted my dress to be like. I wasted no time in contacting one of my designer friends in Medellin and asked him to help me find someone who could create the dress for me.
I absolutely love nude shoes because they are so versatile and go with every outfit!
Whether it's beige, silver, gold or even skin colour, nude shoes will complement every outfit. And even better, they make your legs look longer.
Something my clients often tell me is that it is difficult to step away from wearing black or neutral colours. There is 'this' perception that it makes your life easier.
Adding colours, sounds interesting, they say. But they don't quite know how to mix and match colours, or what looks good on them. So it is too hard and it ends up being easier to stick to plain colours.
