I am not one for wearing lots of pale colours, especially below my waist, because they have the potential to make my hips look bigger. I think I have owned one pair of white pants and now these cream ones. I must confess I don't wear them much.

However, the other day I was playing with my clothes and found this pair of pants forgotten at the back of the pile.

I tried teaming the pants with colourful tops first, but it didn't feel enough like me on that day. Then to my surprise this black top was a winner.

The way I do this without having to try it on, is I place them on my bed and see how it looks with the different combinations.

Then I went on to pick up a necklace, in this case I did wear the top and started trying different ones.

The pearl and chain necklace was the winner. There is a cool effect that can be created when you wear a top and a bottom in completely different colours but you 'link' the outfit with a necklace on a similar tone to the bottom.

I tried black shoes and it was a bit boring, then with beige shoes but they looked weird as the beige was different to the colour of the pants. Then I tried it with these dark green ones and I liked it so much better. The shoes also look really cool with jeans. I highly recommend you get shoes in colours.

I wanted some bold bracelets as well and chose pieces from 4 different sets, adding a bit of light blue because why not ;) I personally find pearls to be too classic, so I only wear them mixed with metals or some bling.

I am wearing: Top: Wish, Pants: Zara, Shoes: COL, Necklace: such a long time ago that I can't even remember, Bracelets: Swarovsky, the silver one somewhere in Thailand and the pearl one no idea.

Have an amazing week!
