Taking my self out of my comfort zone with new styles is something that I do once in a while. You know, when I feel I need to spice things up!

When I saw this dress online... I thought oh! I like that... I don't normally buy clothes online, but because of the fit I thought there would not be a problem.

I looked through the available colours and picked the one I knew would work best for me.

I then moved into looking into the fabric choices and looked at the reviews they had.

I swiftly made my decision and my dress was on it way.

When it arrived I was a bit disappointed because it was sooo long and seemed a bit asymmetrical. I needed to make a decision right there and then, do I get rid of it or do I get it altered?

I decided to get it altered as the dress is a simple rectangle and I just needed to cut a bit off on each side so it was shorter.

I loved the end result!

Because the dress is so loose, I am wearing a fitted short skirt under so I can move comfortably without having to worry about flashing everyone ;)

It was a bit tricky deciding on the colour of the shoes and accessories. Unfortunately, the photo is very yellow so it does not do it all justice or clearly depict the colour of the dress. So what I did was try different gold shoes, with black and with nude. I tried each time with earrings in similar colour to the shoes to create that 'link' between high and low focal points and obviously these gold ones were the winners.

When buying clothes online, I recommend you stop the urge and think: Do I need this? Does it work with pieces I already own? Is it in one of your best colours? Taking out a bit of the emotion when purchasing clothes or accessories is going to help you create a wardrobe that you actually love, and... get to wear.

I am wearing: Dress: online somewhere, Shoes: Michael Kors, earrings: a little place in Santorini, Bracelet: a present.

Have an amazing week!
